2nd Annual 5.8K RUN to Benefit CASA

Saturday, July 14th 2012

8AM @ Midtown Crossing, Omaha.

Presented by Kili is my CASA

After climbing 19334' Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in 2010 to benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), Omaha resident John MacKenzie is organizing the second annual 5.8K run (Kilimanjaro is 5.8K high!) to raise money and awareness for CASA. We are also going to send one young adult helped by CASA, as well as one lucky runner from the run, to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2013. Our goal is to make every child being helped by CASA realize that, not only will CASA help them find a loving permanent home, but that anything is possible in their lives.

FAQs:

Q: Do I have to run?

A: You can be timed in the USTAF certified 5.8K course, or walk a shorter 1/2 mile course.

Q: Can friends run/walk together?

A: Organize a 5 person team. Each runner/walker pays only $10 to enter but the team needs to find a $100 sponsor from employer, co-workers or friends. Every member of the team gets a t-shirt and coupons worth over $100. All 5 team members must run the full 5.8K course to be eligible for timed prizes, but everyone that pays to enter the race is eligible to win the trip to Kilimanjaro.

Q: When do I get my Race Packet?

A: We will send an email with the time and location to pick up your packet as we get closer to the race.

Q: Can we bring kids or pets?

A: Children and strollers are welcome on the walk only. Sorry no pets.

Q: What if it rains?

A: You get wet!
